Here are the goals I set for myself in my blogpost about 2014:
1. Read my Bible once through at least. I will do this by spending 15 minutes when I first wake up every. single. day. no. excuses.
2. Commit to a morning routine where I wake up early enough 3-4 times a week to workout and spend time with God (every morning)
3. Have a day set aside every week to fast
4. Pursue songwriting once again. God has been prompting me to do this for a while now. I will start by spending 20 minutes a week.
5. Blog at least once a month. When I feel like I can handle more, or that I am well committed to songwriting (my top priority) I will up this one :)
6. Go to Youth Congress 2015 in Oklahoma City this August
7. Stop using the word "fear." Fear has held me back my whole life and I'm ready to say yes to more.
8. Only use the word "awesome" to describe God. It's a powerful word and There are many words to use to describe other things and I want this one to be for God alone.
I think I may modify a few of these by the way. For instance, I know I cannot go to Youth Congress this year because of other things going on. It just can't happen.
1. & 2. Bible Reading and Prayer.
Wow. Honestly, I was very committed to early morning prayer, Bible Reading, and exercising until March. I got sick a few times (stinkin' kids. Student teaching is a struggle sometimes!) and got off the routine. I have since worn myself into the ground and have not been getting myself up early enough. So-here's to a new start tomorrow! I will go to bed at 9 and get up early. (I have made this public, so it will be! lol)
3. Fasting
I fast inconsistently. Not for any reason except I forget. In order to set myself up to be successful, I will put it in my calendar on my phone. There we go!
4. Songwriting
I do this inconsistency also. Wow am I the only failure? I think I need to set time aside and mark it in my calendar until it's a habit (21 days is a habit right?).
5. Blog once a month
Since I haven't been consistent at songwriting, I haven't spent time here also, because like I said, songwriting is top. But I still committed to once a month, and I have so many things I want to write about!
7. & 8. |FEAR| and |AWESOME|
Yay a success! I have really been made so much more aware of the words I use to describe things. I slip up occasionally with the word "awesome" but not using this word in reference to anything but God has really changed my worship.
Also, you can read my previous post here where I talk about how changing my use of the word "awesome" has transformed my life.
Happy Spring!
Here's to a new season. Walk through the door.
